Each variant has two folders, “imaged drive” and “virtual drive”. Each folder has a file in it named “diskette.img”. Some variants have “diskette.img” in the “imaged drive”, others have it in the “virtual drive”. BUT if I dump the “virtual drive” for one variant, I cannot find the original “diskette.img” file. So what am I supposed to do to recover from the backup? It sure doesn’t appear that Acronis does anything to recover a backup to any PC – when you install the ISO to a PC, and run the “Restore” button, it goes through the creation of a boot drive, which it then uses to restore a backup. If I have a file, then I know how to restore it, as long as I know where to find it. If I lose that, then I am SOL. If I dump the virtual drive of one of the variants, and put it on the HD of a PC that boots from a CD, then I find “diskette.img”, but no way to know which variant’s “virtual drive” it came from.
